In addition to twelve tips on hunting rabbit, here is a bonus 'tip' for you - a recipe to celebrate your successful hunt with a friend:

Fried rabbit for Two

Cut a rabbit into serving pieces and parboil in a pot with enough water to cover.

Add one hot pepper and four sliced cloves of garlic.

Parboil until tender, remove from heat, drain off the water.

This is not a time to be stingy. Whether you were planning to plink, or have some .223/5.56 stashed away for the long term, remember safety first.

Winchester has issued a recall for some of its 5.56mm centerfire rifle ammo.

The company stated in the recall notice that after an extensive evaluation it found that a single lot of Winchester 5.56mm M855 62-Grain Pene (penetrator) ammunition may contain incorrect propellant, an issue that if used may cause damage to the firearm or render it inoperable, or may cause injury to the shooter or bystanders.

Bill E. Bowles, President of Quail Unlimited (QU) announced that Quail Unlimited will be disbanding immediately due to financial difficulties and internal difficulties discovered over two and a half years ago.  QU is the country’s oldest quail conservation group.

The country’s oldest quail conservation group has closed its doors for good. Quail Unlimited (QU) president Bill E. Bowles announced last Friday in a statement that the company was closing due to financial difficulties and internal problems discovered two and a half years ago. Unfortunately, QU was unable to reconcile these difficulties.

“This has been a valiant effort by everyone and we should all be proud,” said Bowles in the statement.
