We recently had a chance to sit down with Allen Gottlieb from the Second Amendment Foundation and get the straight scoop about the gun related legislation — Safe Communities, Safe Schools Act of 2013 (S. 649) —pending in the Senate. Everyone needs hearing protection, but that doesn't mean they can't be stylish. And what screams stylish more than Mossy Oak? Besides, bright orange or another color can tip off weary game such as turkey, which makes the camo even more important.

To hunt in Texas you will need to have passed a hunter education course if you were born on or after September 2, 1971 and carry proof of certification while hunting.

Texas Hunter Education Certification

A Texas hunting license is required, regardless of the hunter’s age, if they are hunting animals, birds, frogs or turtles.  The exception is that no license is needed for depredating hogs or coyotes.

Hunting licenses are available for purchase at 1,700 locations.  You may also purchase a license via phone or Internet.  There is a $5 administrative fee for this service.
